Before you tweak any settings, remember to reboot your device. Hold the Power button down for 5 seconds until you see Slide to Power Off. Slide the red arrow over and leave it off for 30 seconds to a minute. Then turn it back on. Delete the Find My Friends app. It’s a huge drain. High end Russian accessory maker, Caviar, has unveiled its latest custom iPhone X. Named iPhone X ‘Tesla’, it features an integrated solar panel and secondary battery along with some design embellishments. Spotted by AppleInsider, the new custom iPhone X from Caviar doesn’t have any official connection with Tesla, but was rather inspired by the company. The custom case/build with gold detailing and solar panel looks as though the modification is fixed in place....

Beginning with the arrival of Daredevil in 2015, Marvel Studios quickly established itself as a force to be reckoned with on the small-screen, just as the theatrical MCU had long-since established itself as a box office powerhouse. Demand for the new iPad, at the very least the LTE models in the United States, appears to be as strong as expected. Apple’s preorder page now lists both the white 16GB and 64GB AT&T LTE models with a delivery date of March 19. The rest of the models are currently still listed as shipping on March 16, as announced by Apple during yesterday’s unveiling. Apple’s Canadian online store lists all models with a delivery date of March 16-20, except the 64GB Wi-Fi only model listed as “Available by: March 19”....

The Irish tax ruling in July went in Apple’s favor, with the court finding that the European Union had failed to prove that the tax deal Ireland offered to Apple was illegal, and therefore the company did not owe €13B ($15B) in back taxes. It was widely predicted at the time that the EU would appeal the case. However, the deadline for doing so is this Friday, September 25, and so far no appeal has been lodged…...

Oh, hello. We’ve done some digging in the latest SDK and it looks like Apple’s much rumored second-generation iPad will not feature some fancy 5 megapixel camera, but will instead shoot your flicks and take your pics with something close to a 1 megapixels. That’s awfully close to the fourth-generation iPod touch’s 0.7 megapixel back camera so we speculate they could be the same thing. That means you’ll be able to take some unwieldy 720P video with your iPad (whether you’ll be able to view that 720P video natively is another question)....

This could be dangerous to my wallet. The last time I ordered an Apple gadget, confident that I wouldn’t be keeping it, I turned out to be wrong. Very wrong. My view of the iPad Pro before mine arrived was very clear: this was a corporate device. It’s going to be great for carrying around lots of A4 documents to view at almost full size. This piece, my iPadOS 14 review as of public beta 3, changed as I wrote it. What I expected to write as the final part of my iOS 14 Diary is that it’s all a bit underwhelming. In a sense, I still think that. Apple’s keynote presentation was full of pizzaz, while the reality is much more prosaic. iPadOS 14 is very much an incremental update rather than a revolutionary one, and I still think Apple is a very long way short of taking full advantage of the capabilities of the hardware....
