Apple previously announced that its second wave of iPhone 5s and 5c launch countries would include more than 25 locations on Friday, October 25. For South Korea, New Zealand, Taiwan, Thailand, Macua, and others, that means we’re just hours away from online orders going live and already seeing lines starting to form (pictured below). It also means the Apple Store is currently down in many of the 25 launch countries as Apple prepares to start accepting online orders on the morning of October 25th local time....

While the $999 starting price of the iPhone X may have raised eyebrows in the U.S., import tariffs and different tax treatments will see it showing a far higher price tag in some countries … Most expensive, in the list compiled by Business Insider, is Russia, at 79,990 rubles – the equivalent of $1,390. Russia isn’t the only country where the local price exceeds $1300 equivalent. This is also true in most mainland European countries, the UK and Mexico....

It is no secret that Apple’s search results within its App Store for both the iOS and Mac do not always turn up the best results. What’s New Mutants’ relation to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? New Mutants was intended as part of the Fox X-Men franchise that started all the way back in 2000. The universe was being expanded with projects such as Deadpool, X-Force and New Mutants on the big screen and the likes of Legion and The Gifted on TV. Filming on New Mutants ended as far back as September 2017, but Fox delayed release several times, citing reshoots and their desire to release Dark Phoenix first....

Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) reports that the iPhone 7/Plus accounted for 43% of all iPhone sales in Q3 despite being available for only the final two weeks of the quarter. The research company estimates that the iPhone 7 notched up 31% of sales with the larger Plus model at 12%, reports Investors.com … It’s of course not surprising to see that a new iPhone model accounts for a high percentage of all iPhone sales in a launch quarter: many people wait for the new models before buying....

The iPhone X, iPhone 8/Plus and four different iPad models are facing a potential import ban in South Korea over a patent infringement claim. Korean authorities say that no decision has yet been made, but that the ruling is ‘likely’ to go against Apple. An explosion last month inside an electronic parts polishing workshop at the iPad plant in Chengdu, China, unfortunatelly had fatal consequences for some employees: Three were left killed and at least fifteen injured. If you have an iPhone 4 or Late 2010 13-inch MacBook Air in need of repair, you may need to act quickly: Japanese site Macotakara is reporting that Apple will declare both products obsolete from the end of the month. This means that Apple will, with a a couple of exceptions, no longer offer parts or repair services for these products. You’re already out of luck for the CDMA version of the iPhone 4, which lost support last month, along with three Macs....

Apple scored 52 percent against Samsung’s 50 and LG’s 46. Verizon has just reported their results for the third quarter, with smartphone sales topping 7.6 million units. While the press release does not disclose details about iPhone performance, on Verizon’s conference call, the company announced that iPhones were responsible for just over half of all Verizon’s smartphone activations, compared to about 43% in Q2. It is important to remember the distinction between activations and sales, with activations including passed-down devices to spouses or children as well as the strong iPhone reseller market....

AllThingsD reports that Apple has secured a deal with Sony to launch its long rumored iRadio service. You may recall Sony was the last major record label to secure as Apple had already signed deals with both Warner and Universal. We expect to see iRadio previewed at WWDC which kicks off Monday. WSJ previously reported that Apple will pay Warner 10% of ad revenue, which is about twice as much as Pandora contributes....
