A new iPhone 11 concept video is out today imagining what this year’s iPhone lineup could offer. In addition to ditching the rounded edges found on the current iPhones, the designer also imagined an all new oblong flash to seamlessly fit with a new triple-camera system, Split View for iPhone, an “AirBattery” charger, and more. This latest iPhone 11 concept video by Gunho Lee shows off the iPhone and 11 and 11R with squared-off edges like the iPad Pro (and iPhone SE)....

In comparing the iPhone 7‘s Geekbench scores to a variety of flagship Android handsets, John Gruber noted that it tops the rankings in multi-core performance and leaves everything else for dust when it comes to single-core. The iPhone’s single-core score of 3,450 is almost twice as fast as the second-ranked phone, Samsung’s Galaxy S7 (see below). TIME Magazine today released its list of the 50 most influential gadgets of all time and Apple appears on the list more than once. At the top of the list, however, is the iPhone. TIME says the iPhone is the most influential gadget of all time because of it “fundamentally changed our relationship to computing and information.” TIME argues that we’ll be feeling the changes brought about by the introduction of the iPhone in 2007 for decades to come....

This month brings us the final of the four interconnected Defenders series on Netflix, adding Iron Fist to the critically acclaimed Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. In the run-up to the launch of this series, we’ve seen a numerous promos and photos, but much of the buzz around the show has focused on the criticism of Danny Rand as a white savior. Finn Jones, who plays Rand, has responded to this issue by encouraging fans to watch the show before they judge, and saying that the series will definitely not be playing into this problematic trope....

Elf follows Buddy (Ferrell), a human who was raised by Santa’s elves since he was a child. After finding out the truth about his adoption from Papa Elf (Newhart), Buddy travels to New York City to find his real father, Walter Hobbs (Caan). Upon his first time experiencing the real world, Buddy realizes that humans are very cynical and they lack Christmas cheer. Buddy spends time with his new family while trying to start a relationship with his biological father....

Included in our reporting last week was the new detail that “iPhone Xs” will be the name of Apple’s new OLED models while confirming two size options and a new gold finish for the stainless steel sides. We’ve since heard that Apple will likely use “iPhone Xs Max” as the marketing name for the larger version of the new models. Apple has offered two size versions of the same generation of iPhone since the iPhone 6, assigning a modifier to the larger version, but “Plus” has been the label before now....

Apple iPhone has a good repo when it comes to devise support in terms of hardware as well as software support. In theory, every iPhone gets at least 5 years of software updates, which is more than enough for any electronic device whatsoever. But recently, Apple has been announcing a new iPhone which is compatible and cheaper than other flagships and bags the same amount of features and computing power. So many old iPhone users, especially iPhone 7 and 7 Plus users to think about what is the support end date for their devices....

Data from smartphone market intelligence specialist Counterpoint shows that iPhone market share in China more than doubled between September and October even before launching on the country’s biggest carrier, China Mobile. Apple’s market share rose from just under 5 percent to 12 percent, taking it from 6th place to 3rd place, behind Samsung and Lenovo … Apple had previously seen its share fall from 9 percent in early 2012 as the market was flooded with relatively high-spec Android phones at low prices....

This could be a big deal: demand for the iPhone 4 is already outstrippign supply in China, where local carriwer China Unicom received over 200,000 preorders for the device by Saturday. The iPhone went on sale in China last week, and the local carrier there intends building up supply as fast as possible. The difference between this and the previous model is the strength of the grey market, the iPhone 3GS went on sale in China last year but sold only 100,000 units in six weeks....

After being announced during Apple’s “Hi, Speed” event on Tuesday, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are now available to pre-order. The first iPhone 12 pre-orders are expected to arrive as early as next Friday, October 23, but we expect shipping times to slip quickly throughout the rest of the morning. C Spire confirmed via press release today after announcing it last month, that Apple’s iPhone 4S will be available on their network on November 11th in the Southeastern United States. C Spire will keep with Apple’s pricing, offering the 16GB version for $199, 32GB version for $299, and the 64GB version for $399. The carrier will be offering 4 plans with the iPhone 4S, outlined below. For those who don’t want to go with a data plan they can pay for it as they go for one penny per five kilobytes....

This isn’t a huge surprise for a number of reasons: Apple has been scouting out EVDO and CDMA Engineers for months in their online iPhone job postings (here, here, here and here). Yes, some of these skills overlap with UTMS and CDMA can also refer to the broad swath of 3G Technologies…but come on…don’t put “EVDO” on the job description if it ain’t true.. (BTW, WiMax is also littered throughout Apple’s Job postings…interesting/digress) No matter how big AT&T is and how much range they cover, leaving out Verizon and to a lesser extent Sprint, will be eliminating a broad swath of the US wireless market....

Whilst the iPhone 8 has a new gold finish, the $999 Apple iPhone X is only being offered in two colors … when it ships on November 3rd. Fans of gold or rose gold will be disappointed as the new ‘futuristic’ flagship iPhone is only sold in Space Gray and Silver finishes. Most fans may never know it, but DC’s premiere superhero Batman should really be considered Jewish. It comes as no surprise since the early comic book industry was dominated by Jewish creators, channeling their own experiences of pain and persecution into some of the most memorable comic book characters of all time. Superman was created by Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel, Stan Lee (born Stanley Martin Lieber) is celebrated for creating many Marvel superheroes, and Batman creators Bill Finger and Bob Kane (born Robert Kahn) were also Jewish....
