Iron Man is the character that started the MCU, and he’s been a fan favorite for ages. Many of us are still having trouble coping with what has happened to our beloved superhero – and with good reason. After the events of Endgame, the fan art for Iron Man and other heroes really spiked up. It was likely a way of coping for many of us. And even before that point, the fan art for Iron Man was pretty epic. It just took on a new meaning once the latest Avengers movie came out.

If you don’t know what has happened with Iron Man – we’re sorry, because the internet has surely spoiled at least some of the news for you. Most of the artwork included below doesn’t contain spoilers – but there are a couple of exceptions. So if you don’t want spoilers, don’t look below!

Look Into My Eyes

One of the first pieces on our list was created as a way of coping and grieving with what happened during Endgame. Twitter user nutsalia shared this stunning piece of Tony Stark, while also expressing the sense of loss they’re dealing with.

We adore this drawing, especially how the artist managed to capture Tony Stark (and thus Rober Downey Jr.’s) expression. The eyes alone are sure to draw any fan in – they’re almost impossible to look away from, aren’t they?

The Bleeding Edge Armor

This amazing bit of Iron Man fan art was done using just colored pencils. Artist jn_art created this piece faster than fans could watch all of the movies. And they were able to show off their favorite Iron Man suit in the process.

We adore the sense of light and color shown in this piece. Iron Man’s armor truly appears to shine, especially on the faceplate and shoulders. And the chest piece actually seems to glow. It’s hard to look away from this piece, isn’t it?

Ready to Strike

This stunning piece of Iron Man fan art was created by Fandy Wirawan, and we’re in love with it. Everything about this piece is eye-catching, from the backdrop to the pose, and especially the suit and color palette.

This piece perfectly captures the Iron Man many of us know and love, and it doesn’t skip out on the details. Perhaps that is why we can’t stop staring at it…

The Times are A-Changing

This amazing Iron Man fan art was created by twitter used DCWJ01, and we love how it shows off all of the various suits of armor Tony created over the years. It’s so easy to forget just how many versions he’s come up with – until something like this is put in front of us.

This piece is a perfect homage to our beloved character, and for so many reasons. The first is obvious (the variety of his suits), but it’s more than that. The artist did a brilliant and faithful job rendering all of the suits. And it’s making us miss him all the more.

A Triptych

We are absolutely in love with this triptych from twitter user ziyan. There’s something so iconic, striking, and beautiful about it. And of course, it wonderfully captures everything we love about Tony Stark/Iron Man.

This piece manages to cut to the core of what makes Tony Stark work, and we think that is the reason why it makes us ache all the more about losing Tony. Well done, ziyan! We didn’t need to cry more about this, but we thank you nonetheless.

Heroes Are Made by the Paths They Choose

This absolutely stunning piece was created by Instagram user ultraraw26, and we’re in love. It’s one of many pieces by the artist that makes us miss the hero all the more. And the terrifying thing? This is one of the more epic and less heartbreaking pieces. So if you want your heart ripped out of your chest, check out some of their other work.

We especially love the colors in this image – Iron Man is looking fierce and beautiful here – and completely ready to make the decision we all know is coming, based on what is happening here. Oh, our hearts.

Happy Birthday

This piece was created by twitter user wienzard, and was done in order to remember and celebrate the one and only Tony Stark and his birthday… which is totally not making us weepy or anything. We swear.

We love the unique take on this piece, putting Tony in a more serene setting and just giving us a chance to appreciate the character for who he is. And okay, that is also making us sad. But every one of these images is making us miss him, so that’s no real surprise.

Flying

Here’s another colored pencil drawing, and once again we’re loving the sense of detail and color shown. Twitter user RiazFabian created this striking piece – and he somehow managed to make the metal on Tony’s suit seem real, along with dozens of other countless details that are just blowing us away.

We have no doubt that Tony Stark himself would have loved this piece, had the artist been given the opportunity to hand it to him. And that thought is making us weepy all over again…

Black and White

This pencil drawing of Tony Stark/Iron Man is beautiful, and a poignant reminder of the man behind the mask. All credit to twitter user NamelessPil for creating this stunning piece. It’s hard not to just stare into Tony’s eye here.

There are several takes on the whole half-face/half mask mix, but this is one of our favorites. Perhaps it’s the level of expression the artist was able to capture.

I Am Iron Man

The final piece on our Iron Man fanart list was created by HilaryHeffron, and we’re already sobbing. Seriously, this piece is gorgeous, but it’s also breaking our hearts. The moment rendered here is obviously one of the most heartbreaking moments for fans, and this artist captured it in heartrending detail.

It hurts, it hurts so much. Yet it’s so beautiful and we can’t stop staring at it.
